What we love about Venetia Alia
Venetia Alia is an Indian American content creator based in New York City. Venetia started using her Instagram account, @veneti.a, as a concept board for her personal projects, which later evolved into a creative outlet for her styling and photography when the world went on pause because of COVID-19. Her bio shares her mantra, “casual pursuer of aesthetic melancholy,” which is the point of departure she uses throughout her content. Venetia finds the beauty in everyday melancholy and seeks out moments to capture using dim, natural light.
As a former architect, Venetia immediately aligned with THE RAYY’s sculptural design and the notion of using science in the service of art.

THE RAYY was drawn to the many facets of Venetia Alia. Beneath her surface is an architect and a trained student of literature and fine art. Behind her style are a nomadic lifestyle and all the cities she’s lived in, from coast to coast in the U.S. as well as throughout Europe. Venetia’s diverse mix of influences is the formula we also follow at THE RAYY. Beyond each piece of jewelry is an assorted mix of backgrounds and personalities, from computer scientists to innovative jewelry designers.
Venetia believes in slow living, approaching life one moment at a time, and taking breaks from technology for painting or long walks. At THE RAYY, we also understand that it is necessary to take the slow approach to create something beautiful in life. For her quiet mornings of contemplation, Venetia chooses to wear her FACETS ring in 18k white gold.

Venetia Alia chose to customize her FACETS ring with Blanca Miró Skoudy's 'MOODY as waves' portrait, a work that falls in line with her melancholy Instagram feed. Her jewel, she says, symbolizes the side of her personality that she prefers to keep to herself. What moody images come to her mind when Venetia gazes at her light message? “It brings back memories of brisk fall walks along the coast to small, warm cafes in blustery, rainy Bretagne.” Beautiful melancholy, indeed.
